The 2025 Gotjawal Academy is now inviting applications for its summer programs, offering adults a chance to delve into the rich natural environment of Jeju Island. These programs are specifically designed for individuals interested in Jeju's unique forests, diverse trees, and fascinating ferns.
Each program is limited to 20 participants, with selection based on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are open from June 16 to June 25, 2025. Interested individuals can apply directly through the Gotjawal People's homepage.
Program Details:
1. Exploring Jeju's Ferns and Plants (제주 양치식물)
- Content: Exploration of Gotjawal, streams, and fern plants on oreums (volcanic cones).
- Participants: 20 people (first-come, first-served)
- Education Period: June 26 - September 28, 2025 (15 sessions)
- Participation Fee: 200,000 KRW (150,000 KRW for Gotjawal People members and multiple course applicants)
2. Understanding Almost All of Jeju's Trees (제주의 거의 모든 나무)
- Content: In-depth study focusing on nearly all indigenous trees of Jeju.
- Participants: 20 people (first-come, first-served)
- Education Period: July 9 - November 7, 2025 (20 sessions)
- Participation Fee: 350,000 KRW (300,000 KRW for Gotjawal People members and multiple course applicants)
3. Ten Times in One Forest (한 숲만 열 번)
- Content: Intensive forest observation and forest map drawing.
- Participants: 20 people (first-come, first-served)
- Education Period: July 17 - September 27, 2025 (12 sessions)
- Participation Fee: 150,000 KRW (100,000 KRW for Gotjawal People members and multiple course applicants)
